The pandemic, while bringing various challenges to the cultural world, also presented a unique opportunity that very few are still taking full advantage of: The digitalization.<\/p>\n

It is well known that social media not only helps us to connect with people and stay updated about daily events, but also allows us to learn and educate ourselves on various topics instantly and directly. For example, joining a live museum tour of an art collection.<\/p>\n

In the art world, digitalization has also made an impact, as the proliferation of these tools has facilitated access to artists and exhibitions that were previously out of our reach due to geographic location. Access has not been solely one-way from the public to the visual arts system; within it, artistic agents, and specifically artists, have seen how having a social media presence has become essential for their artistic careers.<\/p>\n

But, is simply posting enough to achieve our dissemination and educational goals?<\/h2>\n

Of course not. That\u2019s why it\u2019s essential to have a specialized communication team where roles are well-defined. Today, we\u2019re going to talk about the Content Manager\u2019s rol. This is a specialized role that adapts to the organization\u2019s communication strategy and implements it across different platforms. It\u2019s simple! A Content Manager must have a strong grasp of storytelling and, of course, the creative ability to propose interesting, relevant, and trending topics.<\/p>\n

Note: this is not the same rol as the one of Community Manager, who is responsible for managing the relationships and connections within the community built around the company.<\/p>\n

Why is a Content Manager important in the creative world?<\/h2>\n

The answer is simple: It allows for reaching more people and experiencing culture in a new, accessible, and democratic way. For example, the Prado Museum<\/a>\u00a0expanded its digital presence during the pandemic by offering virtual tours and live events via its social media channels. The Content Manager played a key role in curating content that not only showcased iconic works but also offered talks with experts and interactive activities to keep the audience engaged. The same happened with some artists that produced live videos of their studios, creating a new way of \u201cstudio visits\u201d.<\/p>\n
