Director
Location: Madrid, Spain

We are looking for a director for a contemporary art gallery

Some of the main responsibilities include:
– Customer relationship management: Developing and maintaining relationships to ensure collector satisfaction and loyalty. • Handle major client negotiations and close high-value deals. Ensure client’s satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
– Prospecting and generating new clients: Identifying and attracting potential clients interested in the gallery’s artists, following the sales process from start to finish. • Ensure sales activities comply with relevant laws and regulations. Uphold ethical standards and integrity in all dealings.
– Achievement of sales targets: Achieve the proposed sales targets, aligning them with the gallery’s objectives.
– Contemporary market research: Comprehensive analysis and knowledge of market trends and competitor activities, adapting strategies accordingly.
– Team collaboration: Working with the rest of the team to ensure a coherent and effective sales strategy. • Contribute to the smooth running of the gallery.

Experience and skills required

• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent domain of Spanish and English, a third language is a plus.
• Capability to increase the database of clients of the gallery.
• Familiarity with the Madrid art scene.
• At least 7 years of commercial gallery /art trade/ art dealer.
• Experience working with international teams.
• Mandatory requirement: Own portfolio of clients and tracked record of sales.

Candidates with 7+ years’ experience in sales role with an art gallery, and proven experience meeting and exceeding competitive sales targets are invited to apply.
